Dealing With Summer Heat in the Summer
Much of the United States is experiencing some pretty warm weather…it is summer after all! I can’t complain because our temps have been in the 80s and 90s…not bad! Usually, we are dealing with the low 100s this time of year…and we’ll most likely have hotter weather before July and August are over.
Even with our relatively mild temperatures, I know I have to be careful not to overdo things in the mid-day sun and the chickens need extra shade and water to deal with the heat and keep laying their yummy eggs. The rising mercury inspired me to pull up a fan and write some posts about keeping your cool. 🙂 I hope you find some helpful ideas in my posts!
Are you having a summer heatwave? How do you stay cool? Share your tips in the comments!

Hi Suzan,
Thanks for sharing your baked bean recipe…I can’t wait to try it, I love baked beans! Happy to share your post in the features!
Have a great day!
Surviving the heat is a good topic for now. So is surviving the rain, in our area!
It swings back and forth between heat and sloppy rain and mud!
Thanks for the hop!
Happy Tuesday!
Laurie
Hi Laurie,
It certainly has been a strange summer so far! We had way too much rain this spring and now it is too dry. It makes it difficult to grow anything!
Thanks for another wonderful party and thanks for featuring my post on preserving herbs! Good time of year to preserves your herbs to use during the winter!
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for sharing the herb preservation post! I’m happy to feature your work on the hop!
Have a great week, and thanks for hosting! The Little Cottage Link Party is on week 11 as well. We’re party-sisters, since we began our link parties at the same time. Good luck to everyone in this summer heat!
Hi Kristie!
Party sisters, I love it! I haven’t been home much lately, but I need to get over and share on your party once I get caught up! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hey Lisa! Yes, it has been very hot here in Middle GA. We are supposed to get a little cooling then back to the heat. Despite popup thunderstorms, we haven’t gotten lucky with those. Just doing chores in the morning and evenings!
Sharing my “How to Can tomato sauce” which I canned in the morning! And my “Grilled Cheeseburger Salad” which was a cool, summer meal that didn’t heat up the house!
Thanks for hosting such a great party! Always so much good info here.

Hi Melissa!
Your cheeseburger salad sounds delicious! I hope you get some rain soon…we really need it in our area too. But there isn’t any rain forecast for another week. ðŸ™?
Morning Lisa ~ Thank you so much for the feature of our new herb bed & hosting! Such a nice surprise when visiting the link party. This week I’ve shared our families New England baked bean recipe along with how to store carrots long-term for fresh eating. Have a wonderful week!
