A Beautiful Doomsday Dawns
- Doomsday dawns.
Ok, let me start by saying that I haven’t prepped for 12/21/12. Well, at least not any more than I normally prep. I haven’t been worried about the world ending today. I’m not all that concerned that we are in any danger today, no more than any other day.
I was a bit concerned, however, that we might be snowed in. Our first blizzard warning was issued for yesterday afternoon and over night. It rained like crazy all morning and turned to snow later in the day.
Great big clumps of snow fell, slowly at first, then gaining momentum. The wind began to howl.
I went to bed worrying about our cat Oscar (more about him later) and fretting over the wind and cold. I wasn’t surprised to wake to a dazzling world of snow and ice.

I’m not sure if the chickens are saying “What is this snow, of which you speak?” or “Heck no, we won’t go!”
It’s a beautiful morning. The wood stove is heating the house, and a teapot. Joe and I had plans to spend the day with friends practicing music, gaming and finally a cookie exchange this evening. I cancelled the first outing due to the sheet of ice in our driveway this morning. Hopefully we can get out for our afternoon and evening activities.
I will need something to keep my mind occupied as I continue to worry about Oscar. I promised to tell you more about this. Our little orange tiger has been missing since Tuesday morning. The first day I wasn’t worried. He often goes on hunting trips without informing me first. After 2 days I started to worry. When the rain started and he still didn’t show, I knew something must be wrong. I am really hoping for a little kitty miracle to happen. But his absence is making this holiday season just a little less merry for me.
I’ll keep you posted.
