The HomeAcre Hop #84
Welcome to The HomeAcre Hop!
Autumn is right around the corner, all my senses tell me so. The birds are starting to gather in flocks for the night. Early in the morning they take flight from the woods behind our house, with the hawks on their tales. I don’t feel too bad because they’re starlings and grackles, and if the hawks fill their bellies they’ll leave my chickens alone!
The winter squash are turning orange and hardening up for winter storage. My pepper plants are going bonkers and the tomatoes are finally starting to ripen. Joe harvested the onions and I hung them up to cure. We are eating all the potatoes we want and I have plenty to dig for storage. Yesterday I started preparing the greenhouse/coldframe for fall planting.
My guys have gone back to school…another semester of college is underway. It seems a little lonely here during the day, but the dogs make sure I don’t get sad. Good boys
