Old Man Winter is Definitely Here…

And many of us are firmly in his grasp. We are experiencing subzero temperatures here on our homestead and everyone is buckling down for the deep freeze. I love the beauty of sunlight on snow and I don’t really mind the cold, until it gets to the ‘flesh will freeze in 15 minutes’ zone. Brrr. I’ve got the chicken coop winterized, extra bedding down for the flock, and those with large combs have been treated with Vet Rx to protect them from frostbite. I’ll be starting a winter hatch soon, but I think the little fuzzballs with have to bunk in the house for awhile, much to the delight of the dogs…but not to my hubby! How is winter treating you?
