Gearing up for Thanksgiving & The HomeAcre Hop #95

Welcome to The HomeAcre Hop
The season is winding down on our homestead. I still have a few root crops to harvest and we have plenty of kale still green and growing. Now my thoughts are turning to Thanksgiving and a homegrown feast! I’ll be butchering our tom turkeys next week…they are getting pretty aggressive at feeding time. This makes it much easier (emotionally) to do the dirty deed.
I have one pie pumpkin I hope will make it until Thanksgiving week so I can make a homemade pumpkin pie. We have a few squash from the garden and at least one of them should keep until turkey day. We have plenty of our own potatoes and onions, enough to last well into the new year. I will need to make my bread and stuffing from purchased grains, but that’s ok. Here’s to a mostly homegrown Thanksgiving dinner this year!
