Frosty October Morn

Frosty flower

The Killing Frost

Frost graced the flower with autumnal beauty. And then the sun rose, tricking us into thinking that summer had come again. If it were not for the brown and wilted garden and the yellow leaves that litter the grass, I could be fooled into summer complacency.

On the homestead, our lives are intertwined with the seasons and we must live accordingly, or lose our chance to reap the rewards of October’s harvest.
