- 1 cup almond oil or grapeseed, olive, or avocado oil
- 4 tbsps beeswax
- 1 tsp peppermint essential oil
- 1 tsp eucalyptus essential oil
- 20 - 25 drops clove bud essential oil
- 10 drops lemongrass oil
- 10 drops ginger essential oil
Add 2 or 3 inches of water to bottom pan of double boiler. Place the top pan on the bottom pan. Turn burner to medium-low.
Place the almond oil and beeswax to the top pan and heat until the beeswax is fully melted.
Turn burner off and add the essential oil. Stir to combine.
Carefully remove the top pan from your double boiler and wipe the water off the bottom of the pan to avoid mixing water into your salve.
Pour oil mixture into containers and allow to cool.
Rub a small amount of Sore Muscle Rub on skin and massage muscles to relax. Store the salve in a cool spot.
You may add more eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil for a stronger effect.
Use grapeseed, olive, or avocado oil if you are sensitive or allergic to almonds.
Add 1 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper for the capsaicin if you wish to create a really powerful sore muscle rub!
Test salve on a small area of skin to test for sensitivities before using on a large area.
