This luscious sugar scrub is great for exfoliating dead skin or scrubbing your hands after a hard day of work!
Author: Lisa Lombardo

Ingredients

  • 1 Vanilla bean seeds from one vanilla bean
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vitamin E oil

Instructions

  • Measure coconut oil into a medium mixing bowl.
  • Use electric beaters to cream coconut oil, removing all chunks.
  • Add sugar and combine.
  • Use a sharp knife to carefully cut a vanilla bean lengthwise, then scrape the seeds from the inside into your coconut oil mixture. (Put the rest of your vanilla bean in some vodka to make vanilla extract.)
  • Combine the ingredients thoroughly and spoon mixture into a storage container.
  • To use this vanilla sugar scrub, scoop a small amount with your fingers and rub onto hands, face, or anywhere you want to exfoliate skin or scrub clean. Use a circular motion to scrub face, or rub hands together. Rinse with cool water. If your skin feels too oily after use, wash skin with mild soap to remove residue.

Notes

You may substitute about 10 drops of vanilla essential oil for the vanilla bean seeds. If you want a stronger vanilla scent, you may use more vanilla bean seeds or use the seeds in addition to several drops of vanilla essential oil.
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, don't use them!
You may substitute olive oil for the coconut oil. It won't be as thick but it will still make your skin feel wonderful!
