Spring Gardening & Grungy Fingernails
No, I’m not talking about a new band out of Seattle. It’s officially that time of year when my fingernails look like I’ve been digging through garbage. And they will undoubtedly look like this until late fall…maybe even winter. Anyone who gardens and hates wearing gloves while they dig in the dirt knows exactly what I mean. No matter how hard you scrub, the dirt just ain’t goin’ away until the garden is put to bed for the season.
But there is an up side…I’ll have lots of great veggies to show for my hard work and dirty hands! So far I’ve planted peas, potatoes, spinach, kale, lettuce, raddichio, carrots, beets, rutabagas, turnips, onions, and radishes. I still have a ton of work to do, however. So my nails will be nice and brown!
