I was asked to review a product from The LA Shop recently and happily obliged. The full review is on my other blog, Little Homestead on the Hill today. Now, I know you are probably thinking something along the lines of “But Lisa, you’re supposed to be self sufficient. Don’t you make your patio umbrellas by whittling some branches, weaving canvas from cotton you grew in your backyard, and then assemble the whole thing with chicken gut string?” Ahem, no.
I’m still working toward self sufficiency, and I know in my heart that I will always need to go to the store and order some things online. When our old patio umbrella bit the dust, I was loathe to spend the money on a replacement. Tom wired it up so it would hold together and we just left it like that, ‘enjoying’ the somewhat redneck look it gave our deck as best we could.
So when I was asked to do a review of a product from the LA Shop, it felt rather serendipitous that this came about a week after the wind storm that broke the old umbrella. I’m very grateful that they covered the cost of the new umbrella and the shipping. But this didn’t affect my review of the product. So I hope you’ll stop by and read my post today!
Many Uses for a Market Umbrella:
- Patio table
- Pool side shade
- Topper for your farmers market stand – classy!
- Keeping the sunny side of your home cool (we open the umbrella even when we aren’t sitting on the deck…it shades our living room and keeps it cooler)
- Shade for your chickens – okay, I might do this with the old one, not the new one!
Do you have ‘bright ideas’ for using a market umbrella? I’d love to hear them 🙂
